Hi! Thanks for the comment on my photo. I started out making maille too, but I decided it was too tedious and not creative enough. Some advice on getting started is firstly to check out armourarchive.com and livinghistorylibrary.com and arador.com. Definitely check out Basic Armouring by Paul Blackwell on Arador. You don't need that much equipment to begin with, but it depends on what you want to make first. I don't know how other armourers feel about this, but I would suggest starting with relatively thin metal (I use 22gauge in US measurements) because you can more easily work it and you don't have to worry about cutting it with expensive equipment. Always think about what you're doing, and why so an so is happening to your metal. I would say start out with patterns from online, but I graduated from those pretty quickly, so I think you could too. If you have an idea of what you want to make, I could give you more specific help. If you ever have any questions I would love to help. Good Luck!

Thank you. I haven't figured it out on the specific level yet =) but I'm sure the links will be helpful.
